Comment: World's Most Duck-Faced Twat Speaks Out!

Michael Lucas, the gay porn producer and far-right loon, offers a new solution to cutting HIV rates and stigma around the condition.
Not that anyone gives a fuck what this cunt thinks.

"Here’s a sentence I never thought I would write: I’m in favour of a ‘Don’t Ask, Kill’ policy. Not in the military, of course — those days are behind us — but in the bedroom. What I’m talking about, specifically, is killing myself. And my point is that, at least when it comes to sex, I am beyond fugly and such a right-wing jerk I should have been smothered at birth.
"Please kill me now."

Fagburn: An Outrage!

Last night I was escorted off a plane by homophobic employees from South West Air.
Why??? For kissing my boyfriend!
This took place after I had had a lot of free booze and threatened to kill the air stewards - a profession notorious for their homophobia.
This is an outrage, I demand a public apology by SouthwestAir and a refund. Hate is not a family value.

Jamey Rodemeyer: Hold On

I thought this piece from Box Turtle Bulletin was an interesting pause for thought amid the hysteria.

David Norris: Back Back BACK!

Great to hear David Norris is back in the running for the Irish presidency - after a foul Zionist homophobic smear campaign.
And he's up against that anti-gay Christian loon Dana.
People of Ireland - you know what to do!

The Sun: That's Showbusiness!

It's an exciting day for showbiz news over at The Sun.
Hard to know which story I find more rivetting!

STEPS have revealed one of the reasons for their bitter split ten years ago — BRITNEY SPEARS.
The band's Ian "H" Watkins hit it off with the singer when they supported her Baby One More Time tour in the US during 1999.
He began flying to venues in the star's private jet while his bandmates slummed it on a bus.
In a new Sky Living series that starts tonight, Lisa Scott-Lee brands gay H "diva-ish".
She said: "It got people's backs up."
And things got worse when Claire Richards revealed H had been secretly dating the band's manager Tim Byrne.

Or this?

"THE Pineapple Dance Studios TV phenomenon is officially over after Louie Spence admitted: "My last show was so bad — even my mum had to turn over."
The camp dancer blasted producers for ruining his Sky One show by making its follow-up — Louie Spence's Showbusiness — "too clever".
Louie told TV Biz: "Pineapple and Sky couldn't get it together for another series so they called the show after me as I was the link with the first series.
"But you know what — it was c**p. And I told them that.
"My family watched it — and they are what I call everyday people — and my mum rang me and said, 'Oh I'm sorry Louie, I had to turn over. We didn't understand it'."

It's all too much.
I think I need a lie-down...

David Croft: 1922-2011

Right-wing cunt who taught two generations to laugh at poofs is dead.

I'll go piss on it.

Noam Chomsky: Too Big To Jail

"Anyone with eyes open knows that the gangsterism of Wall Street — financial institutions generally — has caused severe damage to the people of the United States (and the world). And should also know that it has been doing so increasingly for over 30 years, as their power in the economy has radically increased, and with it their political power. That has set in motion a vicious cycle that has concentrated immense wealth, and with it political power, in a tiny sector of the population, a fraction of 1%, while the rest increasingly become what is sometimes called “a precariat” — seeking to survive in a precarious existence. They also carry out these ugly activities with almost complete impunity — not only too big to fail, but also “too big to jail.”
"The courageous and honorable protests underway in Wall Street should serve to bring this calamity to public attention, and to lead to dedicated efforts to overcome it and set the society on a more healthy course."

The Daily Mail: We Tell Lies For A Living

A very nice man at the Office For National Statistics has kindly sent me a link to the "Survey" on opposition to gay marriage as cited in The Daily Mail article 'Conservative UK: Most Britons still oppose gay marriage'
There's a pdf here.
And as I pointed out it's five years old, so the use of the word "still" is quite bafflingly mad.
And people weren't actually asked "Do you support gay marriage?"
And it's got nothing to do with the Office of National Statistics - it's just mentioned in a footnote (number 31).
Strictly entre-nous, I get the impression ONS are as pissed off with this as the rest of us.
The Mail is refusing to print corrections to this crapola - and is even blocking people from pointing out it is a total fiction on its message boards.
And if you think the Press Complaints Commission are going to do anything you're stupid.
So why not phone up the man who made this crap up - Steve Doughty - directly on 020 7938 6340 or email and tell the lying fucker how you feel?
And it is shameful that some braindead jerk at The Pink Paper or The Advocate can just reprint this crap without questioning it.
Your gay press at work!

Update: Sorry, I should have said that the actual FACTS on that ONS report make for very interesting reading.

Fagburn: A Short Break

Sorry, I'm really pissed off and angry with the world, writing this blog has been very satisfying but it's just making me rage right now, so I'm going to to take a break.
The monumental stupidity of some people makes me wonder why I bother.
Probably best if I disappear for a bit so you don't have to listen to my stupid random rants.
Read Marx - Class is all.
Read Bakunin - You don't need any fucking leaders.
Read Russell - Maybe we could be rational one day.
Read Gramsci - On the spectacular achievements of hegemony.
Read Wittgenstein - "The world is all that is the case."
Read Chomsky - On the spectacular achievements of propaganda.
How about questioning things instead of believing everything you're told?

The Mail On Sunday: Great Coverlines Of Our Time

We're all going to Hades in a small cart with hands!!!!

DADT: Dear John

"Hailed as a monumental step toward equality by gay rights activists, hundreds of Dear John letters reportedly began reaching newly outed troops overseas this week, notifying soldiers for the first time ever that their same-sex partners back home were leaving them and starting a new life with someone else.
"According to Pentagon observers, the torrent of brusque, callous letters—which followed Tuesday's repeal of the Don't Ask, Don't Tell policy—has left romantically betrayed homosexuals in every branch of the service grappling with feelings of rejection and despair, a momentous milestone in U.S. military history.
"'For too long, gays and lesbians in the armed forces were barred from receiving such letters, leaving them woefully unaware that the person they once called their soul mate had been cheating on them throughout their deployment," said Clarence Navarro of the Human Rights Campaign, an LGBT advocacy group. "But now all troops, regardless of their sexual orientation, are free to have their entire lives ripped out from underneath them in a single short note."
"This is a great day for homosexuals," Navarro added. "Even those who now have nothing to return home to..."

European Diversity Awards: Ever Had The Feeling You've Been Cheated?

"More than 50 demonstrators bearing placards proclaiming “The Great European Diversity Swindle” congregated outside the Savoy Hotel in the Strand to object to a corporate event marking the European Diversity Awards. Individuals nominated for awards included journalists Julie Bindel and Paul Burston. Corporate nominations included RBS, Vodafone, Lloyds and United Health Group. The nomination of Ms Bindel attracted particular fury; Bindel has previously been criticised for her controversial views about transsexual people, her article claiming Asian men habitually groom white girls for sexual abuse and her commentary on “Stickergate”, the response to the Gay-Free Zone sticker campaign in Tower Hamlets earlier this year.
"Protestors explained that the minimum £250 per head junket represented the worst excesses of corporate Britain. “These events are supposed celebrate to the work and commitment of passionate individuals, groups and businesses that have made a positive impact in improving the lives of others. That may be true of some of the nominees. However others are questionable. The presence of some, in addition to Ms Bindel; £6bn tax dodgers Vodafone, and United Health Group, would-be profiteers from the NHS sell-off, suggest an agenda of mutual self-gratification rather than social inclusion. “This is not a celebration of diversity as we would recognise it,” said organisers Natacha Kennedy, Ronan McNern and Rebecca Shaw.
"The European Diversity Awards was promoted by publishing group Square Peg Media in aid of the charity the Inclusive Foundation. Square Peg titles include G3, which has previously featured articles by Julie Bindel. Enquiries of the Charities Commission reveal that the Inclusive Foundation was founded in February 2011 by Linda Riley and Sarah Garrett, both of whom are directors of Square Peg."

Tickets cost just £300 - Nick Griffin has agreed to host.

Christopher Biggins: In Threesome Shock

"QUEEN of the panto dames Christopher Biggins says he won’t shy away from any question asked by the audience of his new one-man show because “I feel more comfortable now I’m older”.
"The 62-year-old is preparing for a seven-date UK tour of An Evening With Christopher Biggins, talking about his life and revealing showbiz gossip with a Q&A at the end of every show. He tells Day & Night: “You could throw anything at me, it’s going to be really fun. I don’t find anything daunting – perhaps if I’d done this 20 years ago but now I feel OK.”
"And he says he doesn’t have to worry about learning a script: “It’s all in my head. We’ll do a technical rehearsal so I can learn how to put on video clips but the rest – I’ll just wing it.”

This thrilling bit of puff guff took three people to write;
"By Lizzie Catt with Lisa Higgins and Jack Teague"
How many people does it take to re-write a press release?!
And since when did "queen" become part of accepted terminology at the Express?
Well done all!

Daily Mail: Bigoted Britain?

'Conservative UK: Most Britons still oppose gay marriage'

"Most people still oppose gay marriage and the adoption of children by same-sex couples, a Government report revealed yesterday.
"More than half believe homosexual marriages should not be allowed and two thirds think the adoption of children by same-sex couples should not have become legal nine years ago.
"The findings from the Office for National Statistics suggest the Coalition’s plans to upgrade civil partnership laws to let gay couples describe themselves as married may prove unpopular..."

The Daily Fail.
The actual statement people were asked if they agreed with was; "homosexual marriages should be allowed throughout Europe", which is somewhat different.
44% said yes, 49% no - hardly a great divide.
And isn't this survey five years old?
A poll conducted for The Times two years ago showed 61% of British people approved of gay marriage.
So stop lying.

Thought For The Day: Rev Richard Coles

"It is striking how many of nature's bachelors find themselves at the dressier end of the ecclesiastical spectrum. There's something about the performance, showbiz side of things – the same sensibility that enjoys Rodgers & Hammerstein and middle-period Verdi."

Richard Coles interviewed in The Guardian.
I also liked the line;
"Vicars should look like vicars. It sometimes invites attention you'd rather not have. But it does mean no one sits next to you on the train. Which is a perk."
Richard is presenting Out In The World: A Global Gay History on BBC Radio 3.
Don't agree with his argument that "gay" is a modern construct, but then neither does this history.
Most odd.

Daily Mail: Stop Dehumanizing Transgender People

In a September 19, 2011 article about expanding passport gender options to include a third identity, the Daily Mail referred to "transgender people" in its headline. Placing the phrase in quotation marks negates the existence of an entire group of people.

Tell the Daily Mail to stop dehumanizing transgender people.

The article's author, James Slack, also referred to intersex people in quotes. To add further insult, the article also uses inappropriate, insensitive terms like "sex-swap" to describe transgender people.

When she read the story, Care2 activist Jennifer P. created a petition demanding an apology from the Daily Mail. She writes:

Transgender and intersex people deserve to be treated just like any other group of people--with respect and without quotation marks.

Block The Bridge: Block The Bill

The government is just weeks away from destroying the NHS forever. This is an emergency. On Sunday October 9th, join UK Uncut on Westminster Bridge and help block the bill.

On one side of Westminster Bridge is Parliament. On 7th September, MPs in the Commons voted for the end of the NHS as we know it. Yet the coalition’s Health and Social Care bill was not in the Lib Dem manifesto. It was not in the Tory manifesto. None of us voted for this.

On the opposite side of the bridge is St Thomas’ Hospital, one of Britain’s oldest medical institutions. If the bill passes, hospitals like St Thomas’ will be sold to private corporations, the staff put on private payrolls and beds given over to private patients. Despite the government’s lies, this bill represents the wholesale privatization of the NHS and, with it, the destruction of the dream of comprehensive healthcare provided equally to all.

On October 12th, the Lords have a chance to vote down the bill, and a huge Liberal Democrat rebellion is brewing. We have one last chance to save our NHS.

On Sunday 9th October, just three days before the Lords vote, join UK Uncut in a spectacular act of mass civil disobedience to block the bill. By blocking Westminster Bridge we symbolically block the bill from getting from Parliament to our hospitals. Yes, it will be disruptive. Yes, it will stop the traffic. But this is an emergency and we have to shout as loud as we can.

Jean Daniel Cadinot: Life Over Death

'Dear friends, critics and others,

If you're reading these words I will have put down my camera, switched off the lights, drawn the curtains and taken my final bow. May all the efforts and work of a whole life, the quest for the moment of pure truth in the sublime communion of two beings under the spell of the undefinable desire for the other, inspire those who inherit my heart.

The human being is made such that it only remembers the good and the beautiful, therefore I leave you with a free mind and a head overflowing with a myriad of young men, sometimes strong and vigorous, sometimes fragile and sensitive. All of them gave me these unforgettable moments of their most tender intimacy, moments that only a few really know but which I made in to images to allow you to admire them over and over again.

Never were success or personal fortune my creed. You offered me gratitude, and I thank you for that because I wanted nothing else. Cadinot salutes you. Remember a kindly fellow, an extreme observer given to rages and contradiction but who listened to others and was full of love.

An erect phallus is a symbol of life, a cross a symbol of death.'

Ain't that the truth?
Only just found out the old bugger died.
Piss, that's sad.
Merci monsieur!

REM: Split

"To our Fans and Friends: As R.E.M., and as lifelong friends and co-conspirators, we have decided to call it a day as a band. We walk away with a great sense of gratitude, of finality, and of astonishment at all we have accomplished. To anyone who ever felt touched by our music, our deepest thanks for listening."

"A wise man once said--'the skill in attending a party is knowing when it's time to leave.' We built something extraordinary together. We did this thing. And now we're going to walk away from it.
"I hope our fans realize this wasn't an easy decision; but all things must end, and we wanted to do it right, to do it our way.
"We have to thank all the people who helped us be R.E.M. for these 31 years; our deepest gratitude to those who allowed us to do this. It's been amazing."

Howard F Ahmanson: Mammon From Heaven

"What great success the British Museum has had with the exhibition Treasures of Heaven, a characteristically brilliant display of sacred masterpieces of medieval art. It's been such an illuminating experience that one has hardly to consider how it came about. A few people, on doing so, have had a shock. Peruse the list of sponsors and among them are Howard and Roberta Ahmanson, two of the stranger members of the US religious right. Ahmanson Ahmanson is the reclusive heir to a Californian real-estate fortune who has also been funding much of the anti-gay insurgency that has helped undermine Rowan Williams in the worldwide Anglican Church. They were once followers of the Christian Reconstructionist movement, which believes in the restoration of Old Testament punishments in public life – including stoning to death adulterers, gays and even recalcitrant children who fail to obey their parents. An interesting choice of sponsor, but then, times are hard, and we've all benefited. As colourful and interesting as the display's many exhibits."

Hugh Muir, Guardian Diary.

And wait til Mr Ahmanson finds out the director of the British Museum, Neil MacGregor, is a son of Sodom and Gomorrah.

Update: "More on our new friend Howard F Ahmanson, the multimillionaire whose money and activism has fuelled anti-gay sentiment in the Anglican church. Yesterday we highlighted his sponsorship of the British Museum exhibition Treasures of Heaven. But this was to underestimate Howard's contribution to the artistic life of the nation. For six years ago the National Gallery's exhibition Caravaggio: the Final Years benefited from Howard's generosity. It didn't bother him that Caravaggio was alleged to have kept a boy lover. Howard sees the big picture, so to speak."

Gay Marriage: Why Are We Waiting?

The Liberal Democrat Equality Minister, Lynne Featherstone, has announced another long delay in the government’s promised consultation on same-sex marriage. It was supposed to commence in June this year. Now it has been put off until March next year. Why can’t the consultation start now?
I am not persuaded that there needs to be any consultation at all. The ban on same-sex marriage is homophobic discrimination and should therefore be repealed immediately.
If black or Jewish people had been banned from marriage, the government would act swiftly to ensure marriage equality. There would be no long drawn out consultation period. Why the double standards?
No other government legislation is being subjected to such prolonged consultation and repeated postponements...

Now read on...

Excellent piece, Peter.

Johann Hari: His Part In His Downfall

The last time I saw Johann Hari, we were in a very racy gay club in Vauxhall.
"Hey babe!" Johann said.
He - as per - was dancing like a dervish, as the notorious drug dealers spun around us singing 'Who Will Buy?' from Oliver! and flashing their illegal - some may say deadly - wares.
"Have you noticed how the obvious drug dealers in the gay clubs are selling more crystal meth these days? I certainly have," he said.
"I am going to write an article about this subject because I know so very much about it. I'm never out of the gay clubs, me! Ecstasy! Wooh! Wooh! Bit of an expert on this whole illegal drugs thing - even though I say so myself..."
"But Johann," I spluttered. "You may be making a fool of yourself in the long run by regurgitating such lies and aiding hegemony. What if you get found out?"
But this was clearly Johann's natural environment.
At least he's not making all this crap about drugs up as he goes along.
I didn't like to ask him about it at the time...

David Cameron: Thanks For Finally Stopping Kicking Me And My Friends, I Really Can't Thank You Enough!

A predictably noxious piece of historical revisionism in The Mail On Sunday by one of the running dogs of capitalism;
'How the Tories became the gay-friendly party: As the Government backs gay marriage, a unique – and surprising – insight into David Cameron’s thinking'
It's written by one Michael McManus.
Sadly not the legendary 70s pro-wrestler bloke, just some Tory Party lickspittle who's known David Cameron for 21 years.
"It was announced yesterday that our Conservative-led Government is going to put same-sex partnerships and traditional civil marriage on to the same footing. After centuries of inequality, gay people and straight people will at last be equal before the law, and the doctrine of ‘live and let live’ will have won the day.
"This has happened because David Cameron, a Tory Prime Minister, has driven the process forward."
That's nice, dear.
So what do we learn?

1. The Conservative Research Department, where both McManus and Cameron began their political careers, "had a reputation as a safe haven for Tory gays".

2. McManus "never heard David say a bad word against anyone on the grounds of their gender, race, sexuality – or indeed anything else. He always believed in good manners and considerate behaviour." Good for him!

3. "It was clear, with his very old-school background and upbringing, that if he had ever met a gay person he probably hadn’t even noticed." How thick must she be?

4. "Where David is a child of the traditional English stockbroker belt, George [Osborne] is metropolitan through and through. Unlike David, he intuitively understood the hurt Section 28 caused to thousands of people." There's nothing like snorting coke with hookers to broaden the mind, eh?

5. "In 2001 they both become MPs. As the new Tory leader, William Hague faced an uphill task. His main banner was over Europe and the euro but he also campaigned to keep Section 28 on the statute book. Whenever yet another anti-gay outburst was being planned, gay staff were told to stay at home." You've forgotten to mention David Cameron also campaigned to keep Section 28 on the statute book. Your account of Section 28 is also a farrago of crypto-fascist fictions.

6. "In 2001 the retention of Section 28 even went into the party manifesto. But after we Tories suffered our second landslide Election defeat at the hands of Tony Blair, a brave, liberal-minded MP decided that enough was enough and that all decent citizens deserved equal dignity and respect before the law. He was George Osborne." So you only decided to ditch the homophobia when you realised it had made you unelectable?

7. "[By 2003, Cameron's] close entourage already included several people who are gay and strongly committed to the cause of equality, notably his influential adviser Michael Salter." Gosh.

8. "When the Deputy Speaker of the House of Commons, Nigel Evans, told David a year ago that he was going to come out as gay, David expressed genuine surprise. As Nigel gamely admits, David must have been the only man in Westminster who didn’t already know." [ibid]

And, so, in conclusion?
"Yesterday’s announcement should make all Tories walk tall.
"It has been a long story, but the happy ending has come at last."

Deus ex fucking machina!

"Ray": A Real Wild Child?

I am so hoping the teenage boy who turned up in Berlin last week claiming to have lived in a forest for the last five years is for real.

Lib Dems: Not Another Lib Dem Gay Scandal???

"The Liberal Democrat MP accused of plotting to replace Nick Clegg as party leader yesterday hit out at ‘poisonous’ suggestions that he is gay.
"Party president Tim Farron launched a scathing rebuttal of claims that he was the victim of attempted blackmail over his so-called ‘secret’ gay life.
"He said unnamed political enemies had falsely linked him to a court case in his Lake District constituency where a man was jailed for blackmailing a ‘respected member of the local community’ over his private life..."

Mail On Sunday.

Fagburn doesn't know which he finds harder to believe.
That a leading Lib Dem might be A SECRET GAY?!!
Or that a Lib Dem would resort to a queer smear against a political rival?

Thought For The Day: Jane Lynch

"You're not going to change people's minds about bullying and homophobia. But you can tend to the people who are at the brunt of people's abuse or neglect. That's what Glee does. Hang in there, it gets better. Look for your people. You gotta find your people, just like those kids found glee club. I'm thrilled to be part of it. It's very empowering...
"Sexual orientation doesn't mean anything out here in Hollywood. Ellen [DeGeneres] and Melissa Etheridge and Rosie O'Donnell – everybody before me who had the courage to stand up and say: "America, you love me, but I'm also gay" – I love that they did that. It made it easy for me. But here I know tons of gay people, so when you get out there and you hear about people suffering at the hands of homophobia, it's shocking."

Jane Lynch in The Observer Magazine.

• The new series of Glee is on Thursdays on Sky 1 from September 22nd. But why not just watch it illegally on the internet instead?

Sunday Telegraph: Congratulations!

Daily Telegraph contributor, Graeme Archer, argued that he believes gay marriage really is a big deal, by writing rather sweetly about his civil partnership to his lover, Keith;
"One word, just one word, and it changes everything. Of course gay people should get married...
"Love and be loved. Marry the man or woman that you love, and give your life to them. Nothing else is of the slightest importance. Love's young dream isn't alien, in the words of the pop song. It's the whole point of being human. I wish we talked about it a little more often."
I think Graeme also came out to Telegraph readers in the process.

So what did Telegraph readers have to say to the happy couple on the message boards?

"In a healthy society, if somebody was a homosexual, they would still at least try to put on a patriotic front to the rest of society; they would get married (to a woman, as shocking as it sounds) and reproduce children, lay back and think of England, etc. They wouldn't rub in the face of the rest of society the indecent activities they indulged in behind closed doors."

"Makes me feel sick just reading that piece.
Please Mr Archer, just get on with what you and your "partner" do together but, for the sake of public decency, family values and sanity, don't tell us about it."

"Britisher pals, have you ever stopped to consider how much homosexuality is contributing to subsumption of the UK branch of the Caucasian race?"

"Homosexual relationships ARE less than heterosexual relationships.
That's not prejudice, that's biological reality."

"The word means the union between a man and a women. A man can no more marry another man than he can marry his dog, or his car, or his left foot. Words have meanings. Homosexuals using the term "marriage" for their affairs insults decent society."

At the time of typing there are almost 500 of these - overwhelmingly negative.
Perhaps you'd like to pick out a favourite of your own?

Foo Fighters: Vs Westboro Baptist Church

So Foo Fighters released another of their homo promos last month, Hot Buns.
So the God-fearing fag-hating Westboro Baptist Church turned up to picket their gig in Kansas City.
So Foo Fighters protested their protest.
So cool.
So Foo you!

• Kevin Smith's new film, Red State, is kinda inspired by Westboro Baptist Church...

Thought For The Day: Michael Moore

He is “always” seated next to conservatives on planes. “I say, ‘You and I agree on more than we disagree on.’ We agree women should be paid the same as men for the same work, that those who have harmed others are separated from us. The things we disagree on make a small list: you think abortion is murder. I say, ‘Don’t have one, but don’t deny others that right.’ And all men who don’t like gay marriage or men having sex with men, I encourage you never to have sex with another guy. You’ll hate it.”

Michael Moore, interviewed in The Times.
Mike's got a new book out, you may have heard.
