Tom Daley: I Say Nothing

I don't care if Tom Daley is "the oldest 16-year-old" – he deserves better than a provocative pose in his trunks and the "coming of age" coverline. If the same approach had been taken with a 16-year-old sportswoman, it would have been clearly exploitative. The same is true for Daley.

Working in the macho environment of a professional kitchen, I already get a lot of stick for reading the Guardian. A half-naked Tom Daley on the cover of Weekend, and a further 38 fully naked men inside did not help my cause when it was delivered to work last Saturday.

By showing Tom Daley in a provacative pose in his trunks, The Guardian is now breaking this law: here.
Well done New Labour.

  1. How on earth is that a provocative pose???
If he was bending over something with his legs apart and his hand down his speedos then she'd have a point.

  2. I've only just realised the water is supposed to be ejaculant. I guess that could be seen as provocative, lol.

  3. I think the water is supposed to be water, on on account of him diving into it.

I think the Guardian Weekly cover lines; 'I'm Ready - Tom Daley Comes of Age' (ie he's hot and now legal) plus him posing in his Adidas briefs, were - one could say - slightly more provocative.
    Just a thought.

  4. Oh, come on! Look at that spurt of water... and the angle.
The semi-nudity, the cum stream, the cover line.
I'm with Alison on this one, Fagburn. It's filth!!!

  5. i have to say they've snapped him in a particularly good light there. think he's been looking a bit rough as he's got older. if you look at the rest of his family they're all pretty ugly, so doesn't bode well for him.

i don't think it's that provocative, but it is incredibly sexy.

  6. Copies of that Guardian Weekend are going on eBay for £20+.
    I threw mine away.
